Abstract: El Cloruro Férrico en solución al 40% es, a nivel mundial, uno de los coagulantes más efectivos y económicos, el cual es utilizado en el tratamiento de agua potable, efluentes industriales y mineros, además es muy utilizado en la remoción de olor, acondicionamiento de lodos y como alguicida. La utilización del cloruro férrico se va extendiendo al presentar ventajas técnicas y económicas con relación a otros productos utilizados en el tratamiento de aguas, incluyendo en el proceso de depuración de las aguas negras o relaves mineros.
La empresa QUIMPAC S.A, es actualmente productor de este coagulante, mediante un proceso por lote o por cargas, el cual data de los años 80, con una producción anual de 20 160 TM/año.
Actualmente, la demanda de Cloruro Férrico en el mercado va en incremento, debido a la diversificación de su uso en el sector pesquero, minero y también en su demanda principal que es el tratamiento de agua en el país. El proceso actual se encuentra limitado por la capacidad de producción, el cual no permitirá atender la demanda proyectada.
El presente proyecto, innova el proceso actual de producción, inicialmente evaluando nuevos parámetros que influyen en la obtención del cloruro férrico en solución que permitan obtener un producto que cumpla con las especificaciones técnicas exigidas por el mercado para su comercialización y posteriormente implementar un proceso continuo con tecnología limpia, con la finalidad de atender la demanda proyectada, incrementando la capacidad de producción, lo cual generará beneficios económicos para la empresa y beneficios medioambientales.
Ferric chloride in 40% solution is one of the most effective and economical coagulants in the world, which is used in the treatment of drinking water, industrial effluents and miners. It is also widely used in odor removal, conditioning of sludge and as an algicide. The use of ferric chloride extends to present technical and economic advantages in relation to other products used in the treatment of water, including in the process of purification of sewage or mining tailings. The company QUIMPAC S.A is currently a producer of this coagulant, using a batch or charge process, which dates back to the 1980s, with an annual production of 20 160 TM / year. At present, the demand for Ferric Chloride in the market is increasing, due to the diversification of its use in the fishing sector, mining and also in its main demand that is the water treatment in the country. The current process is limited by production capacity, which will not allow to meet projected demand. The present project innovates the current production process, initially evaluating new parameters that influence the obtaining of Ferric Chloride in solution to obtain a product that meets the technical specifications required by the market for its commercialization and then implement a continuous process with clean technology, in order to meet projected demand, increasing production capacity. In conclusion, we will obtain a quality product, in a continuous process, that will generate economic benefits for the company and also an environmental benefit.
