The aplication of hidrometallurgical process to auriferous minerals produce an impure solution and lowgrade. For that reason, it’s going to be necessary to aplícate gold recovery techniques from leach solutions. The alternative to use the activated charcoal for gold recovery it’s known since a long time, but it has taken off for the adsorption investigations and charcoal desorption. Nowadays many cyanidation plants aplícate the activated charcoal technology for this end, because of competitive advantages that affer respect to cementing techniques. The plant charcoal columns process a solution from leach pads, recovering gold by adsorption of activated carbón and then, by desorption it will be enriching the rich solution, which will be processed in Merrill Crowe plant for precipitation and finally for fundition to obtain dore bars. At the present time after many years of operation, gold grades of solution from pads are decreasing and the content of other such complex solutions have increased by reducing the adsorption capacity of the carbons because of lower gold recovery. This paper is aimed to optimization of the operating parameters in the process of adsorption the plant CIC. Also the experiences of the operations will be described, as well as data involved in the process.
