Enterprise Systems have experienced a great reception from the business sector, there are more and more implementations. While it is true that these systems offer many benefits, there is some complexity around managing their life cycle and it is difficult to ensure that the enterprises will obtain the maximum possible value of them or that they will get successfully implementations. During the course of the investigation, the objective was to determine the interaction of enterprise architecture and the life cycle of a business system, in order to give a contribution that can facilitate the implementation of these solutions in enterprises. The first step was to select a life cycle model of business systems and an enterprise architecture framework. Then, a simple enterprise architecture was designed and it was used as a base to analyze the interaction with the life cycle of the enterprise system. Finally, the relations between the two models were identified and analyzed. The most important finding was that enterprise architecture is related to the life cycle of a business system in different degrees through the various stages comprising the cycle. To a greater extent in the planning stages and selection, related to strategic issues, and to a lesser effect on the development and implementation, geared to operational work of the implementation of the system, and finally to a lesser extent in maintenance.
