The present research work goes into the behavior of the precipitation of metals in the acid water treatment plant Pampa Larga of Yanacocha Mine, with the objective to convert the plant of pre-treatment AWTP Nº 1 to a plant of treatment and win 500 m3/h over flow with a direct discharge to the box of pumping of processed water. In order to check this hypothesis, the proofs were done to level of laboratory with acid water that feed to AWTP Nº1 and AWTP Nº2 with the purpose to determine adequate pH's range, with the purpose to determine adequate pH's range, where the precipitation of the metallic elements in the shape of hydroxides stable principally for Aluminum and Manganese. Of the experimental proofs that developed in this work, it was checked two methods to convert the plant AWTP Nº 1 (Pre-Treatment) in a plant of treatment. As first method it was checked that to pH>=l2 the Aluminum and Manganese precipitate in the shape of hydroxides Al(OH) 3 , Mn(OH) 2 and these keep stable to pH bigger. As secondly method it was checked that the manganese hydroxides Mn (OH) 2 to pH>=l 1.5 keep stable when reduces to pH>=8, permitting the united precipitation with the aluminum hydroxide Al(OH) 3.
