The objective of the research is to determine which are the criteria and indicators of Sustainability applied in a construction to be considered Sustainable. The methodology used is based on a non-experimental design, of Type-level Exploratory, descriptive and correlational; and with a Quantitative Approach. The population is form by fifty owners of the Park San Jose Condominium, Avenida Colonial, Callao; however, the sample consisted of twenty-five owners of that property. The main conclusions are: The Sustainable Construction supposes a new way to confront the process to design and to construct, and the great change of the performance model will take place when we reach the consensus and we become real aware of that new criteria are possible at level of design and constructive, and its application can also contribute with advantages of economic, ethical and social character. The goal of sustainability is to ensure not compromise to the future generations the chance to salve their own underlying ecological problems to constructions or buildings. Buildings, particularly condominiums, to be considered sustainable should possess certain characteristics and contemplate sustainability criteria, governing the urban scale, energy consumption, waste management and water management. To define strategies for sustainable construction and buildings, it must be emphasized that any innovation should assess the potential environmental impact of its application with regard to resource and energy extraction, as well as pollution and waste generation. The implementation of certification systems in Peru is still in its early stages, being necessary to promote it, due to the complexity of information required and the difficulties of adaptation to the local environment.
