Global warming, climate change and increased ultraviolet radiation and global economic growth in Peru is causing the steep increase in emissions of CO2 and methane by increased consumption of fossil fuels, add the socio hindering environmental building hydroelectric plants, these are real signs by which we start the interest in the development of renewable energy. The present thesis is in the field of this type of energy, namely solar thermal electricity. Based on the technical assessment of its advanced technological and commercial maturity as well as its adaptability to weather conditions was selected using parabolic cylinder technology in the Puno Region. Technical studies have been based on the analysis of the components of location and sizing of the solar field at five locations in the Collao Plateau that allowed select the town you Chuquibambilla located in Northern Province Ayaviri the Puno Region. With the data provided by the Puno SENAMHI Meteorological Station Program Chuquibambilla using V.2.0 GEOSOL solar radiation was estimated in 2012, which served to feed with the necessary data to the SAM Program (Advisory System Model) whose results helped determine the economic evaluation to complement the economic viability for construction of Solar Thermal Central Chuquibambilla, for the best possible location and greater annual solar radiation is technically and economically feasible, requiring to be regulated economic incentives and tariff that can make competitive with power plants. Keywords: economic, evaluation, radiation, solar, technical, thermal.
