The present investigation proposes a practical case that helps the formulation and evaluation of investment projects; by incorporating uncertainty which permits retrospective changes in the approach to prospective investments. It has determined objectives that affect the determinate of the utility of production in a project of “tara en polvo” reducing risk of uncertainty in the departments of Amazonas and Ayacucho. It uses Strategic Decisions Analysis as its methodology. The variable relevant risk explains the 85.9% variation in the PNV, they are: the unit cost of tara on the vine, the market price of powdered tara and the access to the market of tara in the region of Amazonas. The profile of profit/risk in the case of Amazonas has four strategic alternatives and it is observed that the third strategy (the Argentinian market) has the highest profit (expected PVN, EV), but it also has the highest uncertainty and risk-there is a possibility of a 9% reduction in value (obtaining a negative PVN). The case of Ayacucho has four options: two alternatives with risk (the aggressive strategy), with an expected PVN of s/509.3 and s/404.9 thousand; two without risk but with lower EV (s/224.4 and s/178 thousand). Key words: Risk Analysis, Uncertainty, Decisions.
