This work aims to propose an improvement in the profitability of the operation of the pipeline Norperuano, focusing on reducing the cost of fuel for the operation of gas turbines that drive the pumps for the transport of crude from the northern jungle of Peru to the port of Bayovar in Piura region. The investigation is delimited at the Pump Station 9, as is the largest installed power and consequently consumes more fossil fuel to develop the power needed for pumping crude oil, as in the discharge pressure must be sufficient to overcome the Andes Mountains and overcome the hydraulic losses in the last 200 km of the pipeline, but the proposed methodology can be applied to the entire pipeline system considering the own environment each pump station. It is found that the proposal to change the technology of prime movers from using gas turbines to implementing the Combined Cycle is not economically attractive alternative, it means, the dependent variable: IMPROVING THE PROFITABILITY OF THE OPERATION of the Pump Station 9 worse when trying to save fuel by reducing the SPECIFIC FUEL CONSUMPTION indicator, through recovery heat from exhaust gases from gas turbines. And on the other hand, it also notes that the proposed change of fuel for gas turbines is presented in good economic viability, as the dependent variable: IMPROVING THE PROFITABILITY OF THE OPERATION is better when try to reduce fuel costs through PRICE reduction, for this purpose the study provides for the conversion of BD5 Biodiesel burners to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Key words: Combined Cycle, turbo-pump, retrofit, coupling, HRSG, Incremental IRR, Thermodynamic coupling, kerosene, Liquid Petroleum Gas.
