This thesis is titled “Improvement and Control standards in drilling and blasting for cost reduction in underground mine-ANIMON” and aims to expose the feasibility of the reduction of the mining cycle costs , applying improved working and control on major mining unit operations that are the drilling and Blasting. The work itself consists of 6 chapters: His First Chapter comprising: Location, Regional Geology, Mining Method, System Clean-Haul and types of Support. The Second Chapter covers the identification of the main problems in Drilling and Blasting. The Third Chapter is the diagnosis of operational processes affecting the performance and costs of activities drilling, blasting, cleaning-carry and support in the work of development and production making a comparison of budgeted and actual. The Chapter Four is the evaluation cycle undermined by cost and performance achieved in the previous chapter. The Fifth Chapter, observations of operational assessment conducted in Chapter 4 is performed. The sixth chapter is improved mining cycle and cost reduction by improving the standards of drilling and blasting. RESULTS: Through improvements and standards control unit drilling and blasting operations, achieving a reduction of the Total unit cost of mine at 4.19US$ / TMS. Is a reduction of the 18.50% compared to what it was getting. This represents a reduction in the operating costs of mine from: 3'771, 000.00 US$/ year. The reduction in total operating costs by improving the unit's mining operations and savings in removal of cut and blown shots, the Elimination of secondary blasting and the increase in the life of drilling steels amount to an amount of: 3'925, 570.00 US$ / year. This considerable savings, widely justify the implementation of a system of monitoring and permanent assessment of the operational standards in drilling and blasting is the basis of any mining operation.
