This paper describes the application of the Analysis Hierarchical method to the dump sites or areas selection for the Cerro Corona mine, property of Sociedad Minera La Cima S.A. Before developing the practical case, the Hierarchical Analysis theoretical aspects and its calculation methodology were described. In order to have enough criteria to make the selection, the Cerro Corona Mining Project activities were described, particularly the waste dump activities, explaining the technical aspects related to their construction and operation. Additionally, the environment of the alternative dump sites was described. These are Tingo 1, Tingo 2, Hualgayoc 1 and Hualgayoc 2. Finally, based on a series of physical, biological, socioeconomic, cultural, technical and economic criteria the priority of the dumpsite alternatives was determined, as well as the consistency of each of the comparisons performed and the respective global priority vector. It was concluded that the best alternative is Dump Site Tingo 1.
