The present work has been developed on the basis of experimental tests concerning laboratory and semi-industrial (pilot plants), these tests were carried out in Compañía Minera Aurífera Santa Rosa S.A. (COMARSA) in 2005; and they were realized in parallel with the circuit of activated carbon industrialist in order to compare the coal process in solution (CIS) with the resin process in solution (RIS). On the basis of the results obtained experimentally it is considered that qualitative advantages exist that favor the use of synthetic resins, being the main ones: its fast speed of extraction of gold from cyanided solutions, even with the presence of cianoaniones, its resistance to attraction, its greater lifting capacity, its selectivity when preferring the Au, absorbing in smaller proportion to the silver and the copper in comparison with the activated carbon, verifying this on pilot scale. From the operational point of view they are also very favorable since the resins require minor temperature of unloading in comparison with the carbon and it does not require thermal reactivation, is only needed a washing with a diluted solution of HCL to regenerate to resins. In conclusion the treatment of recovery of gold from cyanided solutions, using the synthetic resins, is a technology to be considered like a possible reduction of costs and improvements in the process.
