This work deals with the design, simulation and implementation of a digital signal processor DSP based speed controller. The method applied is known as “Integral Variable Structure Model Following Control“ IVSMF, which takes the error between the state of the model and the controlled plant, this error is to be minimized using the boundaries defined in the slidins mode plañe. The Control has been design to drive a permanent magnet motor with back sinusoidal field. known as a brushless AC motor, obtaining accurate speed regulation and the tracking of a prestablished trayectory. The implementation is developped using two DSP's sharing a comen on memory, one of them dedicated to implement the control algorithm, and the other devoted to control the current controíled inverter PWM, process the signais comming from the hall effect current sensors, calculate the real position with a encoder and control the memory transfer data between both processors. The control algorithm used is such it considers the variations of the the plant parameters, those parameters can have variations due to different factors such as core manufacture, temperature, friction, etc.
