Incapacidad funcional por dolor lumbar y su relación con el nivel de actividad física en personal de enfermería de un hospital de Los Olivos, 2023

Abstract

El personal de enfermería se caracteriza por realizar diversas funciones durante sus jornadas de trabajo, generando un gran esfuerzo físico. Por ende, se ven perjudicados ante la aparición de dolor a nivel lumbar, siendo más del 50% de enfermeras a nivel mundial quienes lo padecen. De modo que, el objetivo del estudio consistió en definir la relación entre la incapacidad funcional por dolor lumbar y el nivel de actividad física. El estudio presenta un enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño no experimental y tipo de investigación descriptivo correlacional. Se obtuvo que, de la incapacidad funcional, el 43,2% tenía una limitación mínima y el 50% moderada, en cuanto al nivel de actividad, el 45,5% presentaba un nivel bajo y el 34,1% moderado. Al elaborar el cruce de variables, se identificó que, de las 19 enfermeras con incapacidad mínima, el 52,6% realizaba un nivel moderado de actividad y el 47,4% alto. De las 22 enfermeras con limitación moderada, el 77,3% obtuvo un nivel bajo de actividad, y un 22,7% moderado. Siendo el valor p = 0,001 se resuelve que, si existe relación significativa entre la incapacidad funcional por dolor con el nivel de actividad física en el personal de enfermería de un hospital de Los Olivos, 2023.

Nursing staff are characterized by performing various functions during their work days, generating great physical effort. Finally, they are harmed by the appearance of lumbar pain, with more than 50% of nurses worldwide suffering from it. Therefore, the objective of the study was to define the relationship between functional disability due to low back pain and the level of physical activity. The study presents a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design and a descriptive correlational type of research. It was found that, of the functional disability, 43.2% had a minimal limitation and 50% had a moderate limitation, in terms of the level of activity, 45.5% had a low level and 34.1% had a moderate level. When cross-referencing variables, it was identified that, of the 19 nurses with minimal disability, 52.6% carried out a moderate level of activity and 47.4% carried out a high level of activity. Of the 22 nurses with moderate limitation, 77.3% obtained a low level of activity, and 22.7% obtained a moderate level. Being the value p = 0.001, it is resolved that there is a significant relationship between disability due to pain and the level of physical activity in the nursing staff of a hospital in Los Olivos, 2023.
