The objective of the study was to determine the antibacterial effect of a cream based on essential oil of Melissa officinalis (lemon balm) and Moringa oleifera (moringa) on Staphylococcus aureus. Creams were prepared at 15% and 20% and the antibacterial effect was determined by means of the Kirby-Bauer technique. The results showed that the 15% lemon balm cream formed inhibition halos of 13.98 mm and at 20% it was 15.89 mm, the 15% moringa oil-based cream obtained an inhibition halo of 7.06 mm and at 20% it was 7.95 mm, the 15% moringa + lemon balm cream obtained an inhibition halo of 15.03 mm and at 20% it was 17.47 mm. It is concluded that the cream elaborated with Melissa officinalis (lemon balm) and Moringa oleifera (moringa) essential oil and the combination of these had an antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus.
