The ethanolic extract of Passiflora mollissima fruit juice has been shown to have antibacterial activity which helps to combat diseases and therefore the following objective was to determine the in vitro antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extract of Passiflora mollissima fruit juice against Staphylococcus aureus strains. The methodology was applied, prospective with experimental design. Twelve petri dishes were used, with twelve disks of Cephalexin 30μg and with the ethanolic extract in four concentrations at 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. In the phytochemical results, the secondary metabolites obtained were coumarins, quinones, alkaloids, sesquiterpenlactones and phenolic compounds. The microbiological study showed that the ethanolic extract of Passiflora mollissima has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus strain.
