The objective of the following research is to demonstrate the antibacterial effect of the ethanolic extract of Fragaria X Ananassa duch "strawberry" against Escherichia coli. The method is a cross-sectional, prospective, experimental design, the sample was 6 kg of strawberry leaves. Alkaloids, phenolic compounds, flavonoids in moderate quantity, tannins and alkaloids in scarce quantity and phenolics in abundant quantity were identified; the average diameters of the inhibition halos were 13.64 mm (50%), 17.02 mm (75%) and 17.82 mm (100%); 6.16 mm (negative control) and 42.84 mm (positive control), the Anova and Tukey test confirmed with a significance level of 0.5. In conclusion, the ethanolic extract of Fragaria X Ananassa Duch "strawberry" showed antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli.
