The objective of this study was to determine the socioeconomic factors associated with therapeutic adherence in hypertensive patients who frequent the "Mary" drugstore in ILO, Lambayeque. The method was non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational, observational. The sample consisted of 100 hypertensive patients. The results indicate that 55% were male, 51% were between 30 and 59 years of age, 36% had higher education, 58% had a job, 78% had an income lower than the minimum wage and 55% had SIS or no insurance. 10% of the patients were adherent to hypertensive treatment, while 90% were non-adherent. In conclusion, therapeutic adherence was 10%, and there was only a relationship between the level of education and therapeutic adherence.
