The objective of the research is to identify the relationship between polypharmacy and frailty in older adults treated at the Central Military Hospital. The method is basic, descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective, the sample is constituted by 79 clinical histories of the patients. The results show the predominance of the male gender with 57.0% of the older adults, 48.1% are between 66 and 70 years old, 53.2% studied secondary school, the prevalence of polypharmacy in older adults was identified with 82.3%, it is observed that 66.0% who present minor polypharmacy also present pre-fragility; 56.9% who do not present minor polypharmacy also do not present manifest fragility. In conclusion, there is a statistical relationship between polypharmacy and frailty; likewise between polypharmacy and pre-frailty.
