The aim of the study was to determine the risk factors and nonadherence to treatment for arterial hypertension in adults who visit chain pharmacies. The method was descriptive, non-experimental and cross-sectional, the sample was 167 adults. It turns out that the age of 37 -54 years and the sex is female is the q prevails, the other factors are obesity, healthy eating styles, lack of physical activity. Non-adherence to treatment is related to concomitant factors, where the ability to self-manage and inability to cope with their diagnosis in 77.1%, compliance to treatment and pluripathology are evidenced. In conclusion, the factors are obesity, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes mellitus, smoking and sedentary lifestyle, and there is non-adherence to treatment of arterial hypertension.
