The objective of the research is to determine the relationship between advertising and the consumption of over-the-counter drugs at the J & E Pharmacy. The study method was scientific, basic and fundamental, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and the sample consisted of 79 users. The validation of the instrument was by Expert Judgment. The results show that 54.4% sometimes purchase over-the-counter drugs influenced by outdoor advertising (audiovisual panels). Regarding whether they purchase over-the-counter drugs through advertising in alternative media, it is observed that 81.0% never purchase drugs through advertising in interactive kiosks in department stores. In conclusion, there is a statistical relationship between advertising in alternative media and the consumption of OTC medicines in the J&E Pharmacy.
