The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of dental caries and the CPOD severity index in pregnant women attended at the Guadalupe Health Center in the city of Juliaca, during the months of January to March 2023. The study method was observational, descriptive, cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 148 pregnant women, and the results showed a range of 17 to 40 years. Of the pregnant women, 2.7% were in the first trimester of pregnancy, 58.1% in the second trimester and 39.2% in the third trimester. On average the CPOD severity index was 12.7, classified according to the caries severity scale as very high, In Conclusion. The prevalence of dental caries and the CPOD severity index were high. No significant differences were found between the prevalence of dental caries and gestational trimester, age groups, educational level and number of previous children.
