The objective of this research is to evaluate the healing activity of the gel formulated with the ethanolic extract of the bark of Vallesia glabra (Cav.) Link (Peruvian barberry) in albino mice. An experimental design was used; gels were formulated with the “Peruvian barberry” extract at concentrations of 1%, 3% and 5% and the mice were randomly distributed in six groups. It was found that the healing activity of the gel with 5% extract was 68.5%; the gel with 3% extract was 58.0% and the gel with 1% extract was 46.1%. In conclusion, the gel formulated with the ethanolic extract of the bark of Vallesia Glabra (Cav.) Link “agracejo peruano” at 5% presented a greater healing effect than the gel with extract of “agracejo peruano” at 1% and 3%.
