The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of household disinfectants against highly recurrent pathogens - Lima, 2023. The study method was experimental, cross-sectional and prospective. The sample consisted of 3 commercial disinfectants. The results show that the concentration recommended by the manufacturer is not effective in the MIC test with alcohol-based disinfectants. The MIC test concentrations for Sapolio bleach show that it is effective for E. coli, P. aeruginosa and S. typhimurium. The MIC test concentrations for ammonium salts (DMQ) are effective for P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, S. typhimurium and R. mucilaginosa; while the E. coli strain still managed to grow. It is concluded that the efficacy of household disinfectants lies in the adequate concentration and variability in the response of different microbial strains.
