Índice de caries y conocimiento de higiene oral en estudiantes de una institución educativa primaria del distrito de Juliaca – 2023.

Abstract

El objetivo de la investigación es determinar la relación que existe entre el índice de caries y el nivel de conocimiento de higiene oral en estudiantes de la I.E.P. Nro. 70563 Los Choferes del distrito de Juliaca 2023. El estudio está enfocado en una investigación tipo básica, de diseño no experimental y correlacional de corte transversal. La muestra fue no probabilística, por tanto, el tamaño de la muestra son 100 niños. Respecto a los resultados se observó que el índice de caries CPOD obtuvo un resultado de 8.27 siendo “muy alto” y el nivel de conocimiento sobre higiene oral obtuvo un resultado de nivel de conocimiento “regular” en un 49%. El estudio concluyó que existe una relación inversamente significativa alta entre el índice de caries y el nivel de conocimiento de higiene oral. (Rho = 0.000 y p-valor = -0,715).

The objective of the research is to determine the relationship between the caries index and the level of knowledge of oral hygiene in students of the I.E.P. No. 70563 Los Choferes in the district of Juliaca 2023. The study is focused on a basic research, non-experimental and correlational cross-sectional design. The sample was non-probabilistic, therefore, the sample size is 100 children. Regarding the results, it was observed that the CPOD caries index obtained a result of 8.27 being "very high" and the level of knowledge about oral hygiene obtained a result of "regular" level of knowledge in 49%. The study concluded that there is a high significant inverse relationship between the caries index and the level of oral hygiene knowledge (Rho = 0.000 and p-value = -0.715).
