An experimental design was applied in the study; the plant sample was represented by 500 grams of soursop leaves from the locality of Tactago, district of Cumba, Utcubamba Province, department of Amazonas, and the microbiological sample was Escherichia coli ATCC 8739. Solubility tests were performed with different solvents, qualitative analysis of the extract to identify metabolites and the antimicrobial activity of the hydroalcoholic extract of Annona muricata L. "guanábana" leaves at different concentrations against Escherichia coli ATCC 8739. As a result, it was shown to be soluble only in solvents of polar nature. It is concluded that the hydroalcoholic extract of soursop leaves had no antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli ATCC 8739.
