The research aimed to determine the difference of self-medication in the COVID-19 pandemic in people in two major SJL markets - Lima 2020. Method: observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and comparative; a 16-question survey was used, the sample was 702 inhabitants. The prevalence of self-medication was high, 71.1%, with the highest percentage of women at 51.8% and 59.7%. The prevalence of women between the ages of 31 and 45 was 39.9% and 53.1%, with 50% and 63% in secondary school; 63.4% and 68.7% were recommended by pharmacists, and the most widely used medicines were paracetamol (62.3% and 55.6%), azithromycin (42.3% and 40.8%), and ivermectin (40.1% and 34.2%) in markets 1 and 2, respectively. Self-medication in both markets is high, being more induced by television 78.6% and 76% in market 1 and 2 respectively, and a higher percentage were high-risk elderly patients
