Objective: To determine the relationship between the fear of contracting the COVID- 19 virus with the coping strategies of nursing graduates and technicians from a clinic in San Miguel, Lima-Peru, 2022. Materials and methods: The study was approached from a quantitative approach and its assumed design was correlational and cross-sectional. There were 120 participants. The survey was used as a technique and the measurement instruments were the scale of fear of COVID-19 and the COPE 28. Results: It was found that there is a significant relationship between fear of contracting the COVID-19 virus and coping strategies (p<0.05). A significant relationship was also found between fear of contracting the COVID-19 virus according to its dimension reactions to emotional fear and coping strategies (p<0.05). In addition, there was a significant relationship between fear of contracting the COVID- 19 virus according to its somatic expressions of fear dimension and coping strategies (p<0.05). Regarding the fear of contracting the COVID-19 virus, a medium value prevailed with 46.7%, followed by high with 31.5% and low with 21.7%. Regarding coping strategies, a moderately adequate value prevailed with 50%, followed by an adequate value with 35.9% and an inadequate value with 14.1%. Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between fear of contracting the COVID-19 virus and coping strategies.
