Objective: To Explore the perceptions of nursing professionals through their experiences regarding the care of patients with Covid-19 in a public hospital in Lima Norte, 2023. Material and method: This study adopts a qualitative approach with a phenomenological and narrative cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 10 nurses from different areas, including outpatient clinics, emergency, hospitalization, intensive care unit, and surgical center at the National Hospital Cayetano Heredia. The applied technique was the interview, and the instrument employed was the interview guide. Results: based on the qualitative analysis, it was revealed that nurses experienced frustration, particularly in their inability to interact with their families. Mothers with young children exhibited higher levels of frustration. Additionally, it was found that the nurses did not have the necessary biosafety measures and expressed fear and anxiety about their inability to assist their patients. Conclusions: The study concludes that nurses faced elevated levels of overload, leading to fatigue, exhaustion, and stress. Despite experiencing negative emotions, they managed to overcome these challenges to continue aiding patients within the hospital. Notably, all participants prioritized safeguarding their well-being through hygiene and isolation measures.
