In this research, a company dedicated to cargo transportation was studied, which could not prove liquidity to financial institutions, due to its poor collection management, lack of knowledge of financing methods and financial tools. In that sense, the general objective is to determine how financial management and liquidity are related in a transportation company in Metropolitan Lima during the periods 2018-2019. The methodology presented a quantitative approach, correlational in scope, non-experimental longitudinal design, applying documentary analysis and documentary analysis guide as technique and instrument, respectively. The inferential analysis allowed determining that there is a positive and strong significant relationship between financial management and liquidity (r = 0.885; p = 0.000). In addition, accounts receivable management and liquidity showed no correlation (r = 0.273; p = 0.197); similarly, the financing decision and liquidity also showed no correlation (r = 0.077; p = 0.719); however, the financing decision and liquidity have a positive and strong significant correlation (r = 0.963; p = 0.000). It was concluded that if the company's financial management is effective, liquidity levels will be higher. However, despite the increase in revenues, the company has problems in acquiring financing, as well as in managing its resources, and has a high level of accounts receivable due to the lack of collection policies.
