Abstract: Objetivo: Determinar la calidad de vida en adultos mayores de una casa de
reposo en San Miguel, Lima-2023.
Material y método: El estudio fue realizado desde la concepción del enfoque
cuantitativo y su diseño metodológico fue el descriptivo-transversal, contando
con una población de 244 adultos mayores de una casa de reposo ubicada en
San Miguel. La técnica aplicada es la encuesta y el instrumento utilizado fue el
cuestionario WHOQOL-BREF conformado por 26 ítems y 5 dimensiones.
Resultados: La calidad de vida en pacientes mayores predominó el valor medio
con 175 adultos mayores (71,7%), seguida del valor alto con 37 adultos mayores
(15,2%) y valor bajo con 32 adultos mayores (13,1%). Según las dimensiones,
en calidad de vida global y salud general prevaleció el valor alto con 214 adultos
mayores (87,7%), en salud física prevaleció el valor alto con 148 adultos mayores
(60,7%), en salud psicológica prevaleció el valor alto con 142 adultos mayores
(58,2%), en relaciones sociales prevaleció el valor bajo con 167 adultos mayores
(68,4%), en ambiente prevaleció el valor medio con 207 adultos mayores
(84,8%).
Conclusiones: En calidad de vida en pacientes adultos mayores de una casa
de reposo predominó el valor medio, seguido del alto y bajo. En cuanto a las
dimensiones, en todas prevaleció el valor alto, a excepción de relaciones
sociales donde prevaleció el valor bajo y en ambiente prevaleció el valor medio.

The applied technique was the survey and the instrument was the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire consisting of 26 items and 5 dimensions. Results: Regarding the quality of life among elderly patients, the moderate level predominated with 175 elderly individuals (71.7%), followed by the high level with 37 elderly individuals (15.2%), and the low level with 32 elderly individuals (13.1%). In terms of dimensions, a high level was observed in the overall quality of life and general health with 214 elderly individuals (87.7%).
