Objective: To determine the relationship between the knowledge of mothers about vaccines and the compliance with the vaccination schedule in children under 5 years of age at Carlos Phillips health facility, Comas 2022. Materials and methods: This is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study sample consisted of 95 mothers of children under five years of age selected through non-probabilistic sampling. The technique used for this research was the survey and the instruments were the questionnaire assessing knowledge toward vaccination and a checklist to collect information on the current vaccination records. Results: There was evidence of the association between the knowledge of the mothers and the compliance with the vaccination schedule. It was observed that 22 (23.2%) mothers have poor knowledge about vaccines, 47 (49.5%) regular knowledge and 26 (27.4%) high knowledge. Regarding compliance with the vaccination schedule, the study showed that 43 (45.3%) mothers comply with the vaccination schedule while 52 (54.7%) do not. In addition, mothers who have poor knowledge, 68.2% do not comply with the vaccination schedule. Conclusions: There is a poor positive association between knowledge and compliance with the vaccination schedule. Most mothers have poor and regular knowledge about vaccines and non-compliance with the vaccination schedule. A poor positive association was observed between the variables knowledge of mothers and their level of education.
