Exploración de experiencias de vida de personas mayores que residen en el Centro Geriátrico Casa Blanca - Casa de Reposo Comas - 2022

Abstract

Objetivo: Explorar las experiencias de vida de los adultos mayores del Centro Geriátrico Casa de Reposo Casa Blanca, Comas - 2022. Materiales y métodos: Enfoque cualitativo que incluyó el diseño fenomenológico y usó la técnica de la entrevista semiestructurada y su guía de entrevista con 10 preguntas abiertas que fue valida por jueces expertos y una prueba piloto. Resultados: En las entrevistas participaron 10 adultos mayores. El método de análisis del dato cualitativo fue el análisis de contenido. Encontrando cinco subcategorías principales: envejecimiento activo, necesidad de afecto y apoyo de la familia, necesidad de socialización, necesidad de cuidado integral y percepciones sobre la pandemia. Conclusiones: La investigación destacó las principales experiencias expresadas por los adultos mayores mostrando su nostalgia por las actividades que realizaban antes de ser internados en el centro geriátrico. Además, expresaron con sentimientos de tristeza por el abandono de sus familiares en el centro geriátrico. Asimismo, los adultos mayores mostraron en su nueva convivencia sentimientos de afecto hacia la personal de salud y alta valoración por las actividades recreativas, físicas y de relacionamiento social con los demás adultos mayores. En sus percepciones sobre la pandemia se evidencia sentimientos de miedo, temor y a su vez reclaman la falta de libertad por el aislamiento social obligatorio.

Objective: To explore the life experiences of older adults at the Geriatric Center Casa de Reposo Casa Blanca, Comas-2022. Materials and methods: This is a qualitative approach, which included a phenomenological design and the use of the semi-structured interview technique and its interview guide with 10 open questions, which was validated by expert judges and a pilot test. Results: 10 senior citizens took part in the interviews. The qualitative data analysis method for this research was the content analysis with five main subcategories: active aging, need for family affection and support, need for socialization, need for comprehensive care and perceptions about the pandemic. Conclusions: This research highlighted the main experiences revealed by older adults showing their nostalgia for the activities they used to do before being admitted to the geriatric center. In addition, they expressed feelings of sadness for the neglect of their relatives in the geriatric center. Moreover, the older adults showed in their new coexistence feelings of affection towards the health personnel and great appreciation for recreational and physical activities and social relationships with other elderly adults. regarding their perceptions of the pandemic, there are feelings of fear and anxiety, and likewise they claim the lack of freedom due to mandatory social isolation.
