In this thesis, analytical and geometric methods were used to study Hamiltonian systems. The motivation arises from the field of celestial mechanics. The first part of our research studies some dynamic properties of the curved N-field problem in spaces of constant curvature from both an intrinsic and extrinsic geometric perspective. This work includes an analysis of linear and nonlinear stability of equilibrium solutions, existence of periodic solutions, analysis of bifurcations, continuation of periodic solutions, and existence of KAM tori. The second part of the work focuses on the study of the complete 2-body gravitational problem. We present a geometric description of symmetries and the reduction of this problem after averaging over fast angles. We avoid singularities by introducing suitable variables and performing a symplectic transformation, which leads to a global quaternionic triple letter. The choice of this class of variables is worthwhile, since it allows us to quickly write the Hamiltonian of the system in terms of the invariants and the Poisson structure at each stage of the reduction process. Our work includes a parametric analysis of relative equilibria and a complete description of the fibers in the reduced system reconstruction.
