The thesis titled " Proposal for Improvement to Increase Equipment Availability in a Forged Ball Metallurgical Sector Company Using the Pillars of Autonomous and Planned Maintenance of TPM" addresses the issue of availability in the production of forged balls in the metallurgical sector. The main focus of the research is the implementation of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology as a strategy to enhance the efficiency and availability of processes. The thesis examines the current situation in the metallurgical sector of forged balls, identifying the main causes of low availability and challenges in production. Through a detailed analysis, the application of TPM is proposed as a comprehensive framework that addresses both technical and organizational aspects of maintenance. The work highlights how the implementation of TPM can contribute to the reduction of unplanned downtime, increased equipment efficiency, and extended machinery lifespan. Additionally, organizational resistance is discussed, and strategies to overcome it are proposed. In summary, the thesis provides a robust proposal to improve availability in the metallurgical sector of forged balls through the application of the TPM methodology. It offers a comprehensive approach to optimize both technical and organizational aspects of maintenance.
