Introduction: In today's society, occupational stress has become a major concern within workplaces, giving rise to various difficulties However, one of the effective ways to increase job satisfaction among employees is to minimize the negative effects of stress. Objectives: This study aims to determine the predictability of job satisfaction on job stress in young workers during the Covid 19 pandemic period. Method: For this purpose, a cross-sectional predictive design was adopted, using an associative strategy. The sample consisted of 173 workers of a construction company, composed of individuals of both sexes aged between 18 and 25 years. Non-probability convenience sampling was used to select the participants in the study. The research instruments employed were the Organizational Job Stress Scale and the Job Satisfaction Questionnaire S21/26, which were adapted for use in Peru by García (2017) and Vásquez (2011), respectively. The internal consistency index of the instruments was determined by the authors themselves. Results: The results reveal that the job satisfaction factor demonstrated its ability to predict variations in the job stress variable, and there is a significant inverse relationship between the two variables. In other words, workers surveyed who reported higher job satisfaction also experienced lower job stress. Conclusions: From these results, it can be deduced that when workers experience excessive stress, dissatisfaction occurs in their work environment.
