Engineering encompasses several aspects throughout history, one of which is research to improve and develop new technologies. Therefore, this research work involves the evaluation of the speed-intensity relationship method with the aim of analyzing the levels of service on third-class roads located in national reserve areas. This method is based on its speed of implementation, allowing for efficient calculation of the service level. However, the main problem encountered lies in the lack of research and established methods to adequately evaluate these service levels on this type of roads and protected environments. Additionally, considering the narrow dimensions of the roads and the importance of preserving the national reserve, the need to develop specific methodologies for their evaluation is recognized. Data collection plays a very important role, as the cost of each data collection significantly impacts the determination of the service level. In this regard, field measurements are carried out to calculate the Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) of the road and verify the presence of archaeological sites. Given that this is a methodology in the evaluation phase, a study of the road is conducted to evaluate its service level. A comparison is made with reference to the Highway Capacity Manual, the Invías Method, and the Percent Time Following. This analysis is carried out with the objective of evaluating various factors, including time, costs, and effectiveness, in order to determine operational efficiency.
