This research consists of studying the damage produced in the adhesion of asphalt mixtures caused by the presence of water, often considered in a relative and qualitative manner, in a road project located at 2600 meters above sea level, with cold and rainy seasons, which generates an adverse environment, which impacts the durability of asphalt concrete. An evaluation of adhesion was developed simulating conditions that asphalt concrete works on a track, extending to critical humidity situations, using briquettes prepared using the Marshall design, through the Modified Lottman Method (AASHTO T283), the effect of aggregate adhesion was quantified. -binder, measured with the TSR parameter, described as the ratio of indirect tensile strengths of briquettes conditioned with induced humidity compared to those obtained from briquettes in dry condition, typical for normal track operating conditions. Poor adhesion values were obtained with the TSR parameter, with results of 0.73 in the construction laboratory and 0.65 in the laboratory in Lima, showing insufficiencies in adhesion, warning of tangible risks of premature deterioration due to stripping and raveling. A promoter of adhesion, specifically increasing adhesion and cohesion, which controlled the detachments in the asphalt mixtures, improving its behavior with respect to the mixtures without the adhesion promoter, reaching a TSR of 0.93 in the construction laboratory and 0.83 in the Lima laboratory, optimizing the condition by 22%, in favor of the durability of the mixture, making the studied project viable.
