The objective of this research work is to evaluate the influence of cement stabilization of soil blocks on their physical and mechanical properties, in order to estimate their water resistance and mechanical strength, taking into account the parameters of the Peruvian E.080 standard. The thesis was developed in the district of Sócota, the first thing that was done was in situ tests and laboratory tests of the three types of soil in order to select the best material for the elaboration of the blocks. Once the soil material was selected, both conventional and stabilized blocks were made with 3%, 5% and 8% cement. Subsequently, tests were carried out to evaluate suction, absorption and flood simulation in physical tests, while mechanical tests evaluated the resistance of walls in compression and indirect traction, as well as compression and traction tests per unit, and the resistance of the mortar was also evaluated. As a result, it was concluded that blocks stabilized with 8% cement have better properties when exposed to the action of water, while conventional blocks have better properties in terms of mechanical resistance.
