Distributing companies of mass consumption products in the Lambayeque region have a low level of digital maturity and a deficient IT strategic alignment, based on the evaluations carried out on a sample of 3 companies in the sector, a lack of knowledge was identified on the part of senior managers in terms of digitalization of processes and a lack of interest in the role of IT on the fulfillment of the business strategy. The main objective of this research is to design a model based on digital transformation and the PETI methodology to support the strategic alignment of IT in distribution companies. For this reason, a comparison of digital transformation models and PETI frameworks was carried out; which, when customized to organizations in the distribution sector, provide a sequence of phases and activities to align IT with the business strategy. The model was submitted to the judgment of 3 experts who validated the proposed model using their professional experience in projects and management of digital transformation and IT strategic planning. The validated model was applied to the company SIPAN SRL, to the processes of the operations category.
