Ancient societies conceived of older adults in a positive way since they represented knowledge and experience, although over time and industrial development this image has changed; People aged 60 or over in the modern period are often perceived in a negatively stereotypical way. The research had a quantitative approach, the design was descriptivetransversal, whose objective was to determine the level of beliefs of negative stereotypes towards older adults by nursing students from Chiclayo, 2023. The population was made up of 390 nursing students, the sample It was made up of 194 students and the sampling was probabilistic and stratified random, and it also met the inclusion and exclusion criteria set forth; To collect data, the “Survey of negative stereotype towards old age” (CENVE) was used, which has validation by content and reliability according to Cronbach's alpha. Subsequently, the data obtained were coded in an Excel spreadsheet, analyzed by the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program, version 27 of Windows, and finally the criteria of ethical and scientific rigor were met at all times. The results showed that 44% of nursing students have a low level of belief in negative stereotypes towards older adults; however, in relation to the dimensions studied, it was evident that 52% of the students have a high level of belief. of negative stereotypes in Character-personality, obtaining the highest scores from students from first to fourth cycle.
