The objective of the research was to describe, analyze and understand the effects of climate change on health from the perspective of hospital nurses in Jaén, 2023. The research was qualitative, with a descriptive approach, the sampling was non-probabilistic for convenience; Through saturation and redundancy, a sample of 12 nurses from the General Hospital of Jaén was obtained. Data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview, validated by expert judgments. The content analysis was carried out applying ethical criteria and scientific rigor. Among the results, 5 categories were obtained: a) Effects on eye and skin health due to increased UV radiation, b) Effects on cardiovascular and kidney health due to heat waves, c) Effects on respiratory health due to extreme changes in temperature, d) Health effects due to extreme weather phenomena: Metaxenic diseases, mental health and impact on food security, e) Need to include climate change and its effects on health in professional training. In conclusion, climate change has direct and indirect health effects on the population, for this reason nurses are aware of the risks of climate change; and they even emphasize the importance of including this topic in the professional training of nurses so that they can contribute to this public health problem.
