Currently, in Peru there are many enterprises that offer phone cases for the diverse models of mobile phones available in the market, that come in different designs and colors. However, very few of them produce their own cases, given that most phone cases are imported and then customized by Peruvian sellers, by simply adding drawings or designs to them. The product in study in this research project is a phone case that will be manufactured in Peru, with the particularities of being produced by using 3D printing technology based on PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol) plastic, post-consumption, and having personalized designs according to the clients’ taste or created by the enterprise. The project’s main objective is to demonstrate the market, technical, economic, and social viability of the implementation of a phone case production plant based on recycled PETG plastic. To meet this objective, a market study will be carried out. This will make possible the identification of consumers’ preferences and the product’s demand through a survey. In addition, ranking factors will be used to find the location that best suits the plant’s requirements. Furthermore, knowledge on plant layout, such as the Guerchet Method will be used to calculate the space that the plant will need, obtaining a total area of 295.24 m². For the economic and financial evaluation, the NPV (S/ 178 465.30), IRR (26.39%), payback period (4.08 years) and cost benefit (B/C = 1.755) of the project will be calculated to demonstrate if it would be profitable.
