In this research work, it was chosen to determine the relationship between the organizational climate and adaptive performance in the retail sector of department stores in Trujillo in the year 2023, as it can provide valuable information to improve personnel management, optimize the performance of companies and ensure a positive and efficient work environment in this sector. This non-experimental cross- sectional correlational research had as its object of study the total population, which is made up of 365 employees of the main department stores in Trujillo, which we have referred to as Company A, B and C. For to obtain the analysis information, two surveys were applied, which expose the dimensions of both the organizational climate and adaptive performance. These dimensions were adapted from past research, complying with the existing theory about the topics discussed. The first variable questionnaire consists of 37 items and the second of 22, both evaluated on a five-level Likert scale. The results demonstrate that, through Spearman's Rho test (0.367), there is a highly significant relationship between the organizational climate variables and adaptive performance of employees in the retail sector of department stores in Trujillo in the year 2023, accepting in this way the alternative hypothesis proposed
