This research aimed to know if there is a relationship between negative attitudes towards trans people and tolerance to ambiguity by students of the first cycles of the careers of science and letters of a private university in Metropolitan Lima. Likewise, it was sought to know if there was a relationship between the constructs in each of the faculties and if there were differences in the degree of negative attitudes towards trans people between men and women between and within faculties. For this, a quantitative study of correlational and descriptive cut was carried out, using the Scale of Negative Attitudes towards Trans People (EANPT) and the Scale of Tolerance to Ambiguity (MSTAT-II) to a total of 167 students. The results reveal the existence of a direct relationship between both constructs, especially in male students in the first cycles of science majors. This could be due to their cognitive styles since they generally present a stronger systematization than women, who have a more empathy tendency.
