The present research entitled “Achievements and difficulties in learning to write in students who finish primary education in a public educational institution in San Miguel“, aims to analyze the achievements and difficulties experienced in learning to write by a group of sixth grade students, upon completing their primary education studies, at the aforementioned institution. public education of San Miguel. On this occasion, the research is qualitative of an empirical nature, it is developed from data at a descriptive level, speed in a case study. The information obtained from tests is from rubrics and the data collected from all rubrics is organized in an information systematization matrix, which is organized by categorizing the level achieved by the students with respect to each ability. In this sense, the results provide percentages, according to the achievements and difficulties that students present around writing, through their tests. A greater coincidence of achievements has been found in the first two capacities linked to the adaptation of the text to the situation and the organization of ideas, occupying the satisfactory level, the opposite of the following two capacities related to the conventions of written language and reflection, reflects that there are more difficulties in these. Indeed, the weakest weakness corresponds to the use of language conventions, punctuation marks, accents and the use of connectors.
