This work shows an analysis on mentoring models and experiences in the university education spaces and also develops an improvement proposal for a career mentoring program, as well as a plan for implementation of a program of this nature. In this sense, this work is aimed at contributing with the university students to have better transition processes from the university to the work market. Moreover, this work evidences the significance of involvement of graduates in the professional career as career mentors, which contributes to strengthening bonds between graduates and the university. Subsequently, references of models and experiences of mentoring, applicable and applied to university education environments, will be reviewed. References under review are as follows: mentoring model of the US National Society of Mentoring, mentoring model of Red Alfa and experiences of Princeton and Stanford universities. For the proposed improvement to the career-mentoring program of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, information obtained through interviews, focus groups, surveys and feedback cards was analyzed. Applied mainly during the first half of 2016 and in October of the same year. The participants were the members of the career-mentoring program, that is, counselors and counselors. The program improvement proposal includes 5 processes and 15 components This work has the following purposes: identify good practices and lessons learned from the Career Advisors Program of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú; make an improvement proposal for this Program; and propose an implementation plan of career mentoring programs applicable to universities.
