For the development of the research, the following has been used: (a) the search for information in refereed sources, (b) the review and analysis of current legislation in Peru related to comprehensive waste management, (c) user research through interviews and surveys, and (d) development of prototypes. For 2022 the city of Lima generates 1,500 tons of waste that can be recycled, such as plastic, paper, and glass. However, less than 2% is recycled, used and reinserted into the market. Faced with this problem, a business opportunity has been identified that aims to resolve the current disarticulation between the collection activity of recyclers and the way in which households dispose of their inorganic solid waste. This solution will consist of a digital platform with which cities will achieve better management of inorganic waste. The platform connects households with collectors, being a technological and logistics solution, with a high capacity for scalability. The proposal consists of a sustainable, profitable and easily scalable business model to serve more cities around the world and integrate various materials for recycling. In the first year of operations, it is projected to have the participation of 28,000 households (only 1% of the total households in Metropolitan Lima) and an annual growth of 27% of households is estimated, achieving a total of 72,000 households associated with the finish the fifth year. In addition, it is projected to recover the investment from the first year, achieving a net present value (NPV) of S/5.9 million over 5 years and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 353%. Finally, the project will have important social and environmental impacts, estimating an environmental social NPV of S/36 million. This proposal also seeks to have a positive impact on society and its development, encouraging recycling in homes, giving certainty of the correct treatment of recycled waste, reducing environmental pollution, generating an increase in the monetary income received by recyclers. That is why it is aligned with the sustainable development goals set for 2030.
