The aim of this research was to verify if Google Slides has the adequate usability level for secondary level students to make group presentations, given it is important to know if we can introduce commercial apps to the teaching – learning process (Brown & Hocutt, 2015). For this aim, students from 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade of secondary level of a private school in Lima, took part of a user test which let them interact with the systems main functionalities. Research is empirical and took a descriptive level. To carry out the investigation we used the definition stablished in the ISO 9241-11 (1998) norm and evaluated its effectiveness and satisfaction. To measure these attributes, we used a binary task completion list and the System Usability Scale (SUS) (Brooke, 1996). Even though results showed Google Slides lets students make group presentations, it did not show good satisfaction for the students to consider its usability satisfactory. It is likely that a knowledge transfer form a similar app like Power Point helped the students complete the tasks satisfactorily, but that at the same time, it transferred the sensation of using an already known app that does not show any novelty, demotivating them.
