This research project proposes a video surveillance security service using drones for medium and large companies operating in Metropolitan Lima. This is a solution to the high crime rates in this city, which have led to 75% of citizens feeling unsafe and fearing being victims of robberies. The proposal also aims to address the high number of robbery reports that are dismissed due to lack of evidence. In 2022 alone, there were nearly 500,000 crime reports filed nationwide, resulting in losses of S/. 2.6 million. This proposal allows companies to fulfill their social commitment to deterring crime in the areas near their operations. The development of this thesis involved market research, economic and social studies, and agile methodologies. The goal was to determine the desirability, feasibility, and viability of the project. The investment required to launch the project is just over 61,000 $. The project will be financed through a combination of equity contributions from partners (57%) and a bank loan (43%). The financial evaluation, calculated over a five-year horizon in a conservative scenario, shows a net present value (NPV) of 1,090,668 $ and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 205.04%. The social NPV calculated for the same conservative scenario is 702,795 $. Therefore, we conclude that the project is financially and socially viable.
