This work presents an agile management framework to optimize inter-unit project management within a traditional organization. The methodology of this thesis included the development of a theoretical framework on agile project management and the analysis of the current situation of the organization. Also, the framework was designed, defining 3 stages of an inter-unit project: Definition, Development and Delivery. This allowed to identify the activities that allow to define and conceptualize the project within the Definition stage, then, all the activities related to the implementation of what was defined in the first stage, as well as the development of the project content are in the Development stage and finally, the Delivery refers to all the closing activities since there is a final product. This framework was then used for the development of two pilot projects. In which it was possible to evaluate the usability and allowed to define the recommendations and refine the implementation plan presented. The conclusions highlight the importance of the Definition stage, as it was observed that it is crucial for the success of the project development. It is also recommended that projects be driven by “results buyers“ to ensure their success. Finally, it is recommended that the framework be implemented in other inter-unit projects, communicated as part of the cultural change of the university’s organization.
